PURPOSE:To provide the title easily obtainable, inexpensive and safe eliminant having highly remarkable active oxygen-eliminating effect, thus useful in broad applications including medicines, foods and cosmetics, comprising an extract from rice obtained by using water or organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:The objective active oxygen eliminant comprising an extract from rice obtained by using water or an organic solvent. The extract from rice obtained by using water can be produced, e.g. by the following method: ground or powdered rice is incorporated with 2-5wt. times of water followed by heating to a boiling state, and the resulting extract is squeezed and filtered. In this case, to prevent gelatinization, it is recommended that amylase be added to cause reaction or the starch decomposed with e.g. hydrochloric acid. |
