PURPOSE:To obtain a filler, which has the excellent chemical and mechanical stabilities and the excellent mechanical strength and can be applied in the alalysis in a wide range by setting the specifed values for an average particle diameter, a specific surface area, a pore rate, a crystal structure, acidity and basicity, and using titania. CONSTITUTION:Granular titania in is used as a filler. The titania has the average particle diameter of 1-1000mum, the specific surface area of 1m<2>/g, the pore rate of 5-60%, the crystal structure containing 50% or more rutile type, the acidity less than 0.01mmol/g and the basicity exceeding 0.01mmol/g. When the average particle diameter is less than 1mum, the voids of colums become too low, and the conduction of a moving phase is hampered. When the average particle diameter exceeds 1000mum, the contact between the moving phase and a fixed phase becomes insufficient. When the specific surface area is less than 5m<2>/g, the adsorbing power is small, and the efficient analysis cannot be performed. When the pore rate is less than 5% or exceeds 60%, the adsorbing power becomes small, and the efficient analysis cannot be performed. The crystal structure can be investigated by an X-ray diffraction analysis method. The acidity and the basicity can be titrated with n-butylamine and benzoic acid. |
