PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of printing trouble and to power by providing the thin-walled cylindrical shell supported on the outer periphery of a fixed center shaft through a hermetically sealed fluid in a freely rotatable manner and expandable in its radial direction and the cylindrical blanket fitted over the outer periphery of the thin-walled cylindrical shell. CONSTITUTION:The outer diameter of a thin-walled cylindrical shell 16 is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of a belt like blanket 17 and the belt like blanket 17 is made possible to externally fit to the thin-walled cylindrical shell 16 in such a state that no internal pressure acts on the shell 16. The thin-walled cylindrical shell 16 receives the action of the internal pressure due to the high pressure fluid supplied from a conduit 19 to expand and can fix the belt like blanket 17 and, by adjusting the internal pressure, the pressure applied to the opposed roll can be altered. The thin-walled rotary cylindrical shell 16 is concentrically supported on a fixed center shaft 18 by an all-round static pressure bearing 22. A high pressure fluid is supplied to the all-round static pressure bearing 22 from a conduit 20 under pressure slightly higher than the pressure of the fluid supplied to the conduit 19 and the thin-walled rotary cylindrical shell 16 can be supported around the center shaft 18 friction rigidity. |
