PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium excellent in weatherability and preservability even under high temp. and high humidity environment by providing a recording layer containing a double salt of a dye cation represented by a specific formula and a metal complex anion represented by a specific formula. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer containing a double salt of a dye cation represented by formula I or II (wherein A, B, D and E are an aryl group and R1-R22 are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a monovalent org. residue) and a metal complex anion represented by formula III (wherein R23-R26 are an aryl group, M is a transition metal atom and (n) is 0 or 1) is provided to an optical recording medium. By this method, light fastness and stability under a high temp. and high humidity environmental condition can be enhanced without lowering various excellent characteristics possessed by a polymethylene type azulene compound. Further, repeating regeneration to reading light can be also enhanced. |
