OLIGO-ALPHA-GALACTOSE COMPOSITION

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition showing a remarkable bifidus- proliferation promotion activity and having specified properties by using galactose or a galactose-containing substance as the raw material and carrying out dehydration condensation thereof in the presence of alpha-galactosidase. CONSTITUTION:Galactosidase of 5 U/g alpha-galactosidase concentration is acted on a raw material composed of >=5wt.% galactose or a galactose-containing composition and dehydration-condensation is carried out, thus affording the objective composition showing the following properties; (A) The fermentability factor is high enough to give pH<=5.5 to the Pepton-Yeast-Fildes-solution (PYF) medium containing an enterobacterium Bifidobacterium bifidum in an amount of 0.5wt.% final concentration and the oligosaccharide and (B) 80wt.% aqueous solution can be allowed to stand at 25 deg.C for >=24hr without deposition of crystal.
