PURPOSE:To obtain the diagnostic medicine for C-type hepatitis having the high detecting rate and detecting sensitivity by incorporating protein derived from an E2/NS1 region having sugar chains. CONSTITUTION:This medicine incorporates protein derived from an E2/NS1 having sugar chains. The E2/NS1 protein having the sugar chains, which are obtained by generating the cDNA in the E2/NS1 region with animal cells, reacts with the serum of a C-type hepatitis patient at a high rate by a fluorescent antibody technique. The E2/NS1 protein is the protein, which is coded with the gene of the C-type hepatitis virus (HCV), and the protein in the region called as the second envelope protein or the first non-structural protein. The diagnostic medicine incorporating the protein derived from the E2/NS1 region having the sugar chains is useful for confirming or detecting the presence of the HCV antibodies in the sample containing blood, serum or the like. The C-type hepatitis can be diagnosed highly sensitively. |
