PURPOSE:To obtain the subject resin which is excellent in transparency and optical uniformity by preparing a reactive oligomer having a predetermined molecular weight and a polymerizable functional group from a plurality of specific monomers and reacting the oligomer with a monomer. CONSTITUTION:A monomer mixture comprising an aromatic vinyl monomer (e.g. styrene), a (meth)acrylate monomer (e.g. benzyl methacrylate), a cyanovinyl monomer (e.g. acrylonitrile) and an unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g. methacrylic acid) or a reactive derivative obtained by modifying the same at its COOH group is subjected to a preliminary polymerization to obtain an oligomer. A functional group capable of vinyl polymerization is introduced into the oligomer (e.g. by reaction with glycidyl metha-crylate) to obtain a reactive oligomer having a number average molecular weight of 1000 to 50,000 and at least 1.5 functional groups capable of vinyl polymerization per molecule. This reactive oligomer is reacted with a copolymerizable monomer (e.g. triethylene glycol dimethacrylate). |
