Wettable biocompatible organic materials for ocular use, comprising a combination of a self-supporting substrate made of epoxy silicone elastomer obtained by cross-linking a cross-linkable organopolysiloxane composition having epoxy functions, and protide wettability molecules which are chemically bonded to the substrate surface by grafting them onto said epoxy functions of the elastomer.
