<p>A sealing profile of rubber or plastic, specially for clamping between panels of motor car bodywork like the boot and the boot lid, consists of a group of warp wires in the longitudinal direction and transverse weft wires which are encased in rubber or plastic by extrusion and pressed to a U-shape. Both the warp and the weft wires are coated before the extrusion with plastic, esp. at the cross-over intersections. Arrangement ensures that the alignment of the warp and weft wires is not disturbed during the extrusion or the pressing operation. It guarantees that ageing does not lead to any shrinkage, causing the seal to leak and to admit, e.g. exhaust gases inside the car.</p> |
