Monolithic optical component (1) having at least one function of tapping-off the incident optical energy (Po), characterised in that it essentially comprises an optical fibre having two non-coaxial cores (3, 4), the difference in refractive index between the cores and the optical cladding (2) of the fibre being caused, especially, by the presence of dopants in this optical cladding, the said fibre having at least one zone (10) where the said difference is locally modified by diffusion of the dopants and thus creates an evanescent-wave coupling between the said cores (3, 4). Example of application: interferometers. <IMAGE>
