Vacuum pump of the screw type including a stator (1) equipped, in the vicinity of one of its ends, with an intake orifice (2) and, in the vicinity of its other end, with a delivery orifice (3), and a rotor assembly comprising a male rotor (4) and a female rotor (5) mutually in mesh, the female rotor including at least one helical groove (9, 10, 11) and the male rotor including at least one set of helical toothing (6, 7, 8), the axes of the two rotors being parallel, characterised in that the male (4) and female (5) rotors each have the shape of a cone frustum, the female rotor having its largest base on the said intake orifice (2) side and the male rotor having its largest base on the said delivery orifice (3) side. <IMAGE>
