Secateurs with rotary cutting tool which brings the plant to be cut against a fixed backing tool then cuts it. These secateurs comprise a mobile tool (1) including a cylindrical part (3) of a certain diameter (D) and a conical part (4) through which a helical recess (5) passes, thus forming a spiralled structure (6) whose side (11) has a cutting edge (13). The base (19) of the spiralled structure (6) is engaged freely in rotation in a tubular bearing ring (20) forming a backing tool, fitted with a plate (23) and a guide entry device (24), supported by a sleeve/bearing (29) using rods (30), and providing a gap (31) for removal of cuttings. Application: trimming at height, pruning shrubs and trees. <IMAGE>
