In order to carry out the treatment of soils, and especially weedkilling, for example between rows of vines, an apparatus is proposed which comprises a generator delivering electromagnetic waves at the frequency of approximately 27 MHz, and an applicator (16) which receives waves via a single electrical cable. The applicator comprises a bell-shaped support (20) under which are fixed the electrodes (28), parallel to each other, of a series of radiating elements, these electrodes being oriented towards the soil in a direction substantially perpendicular to the latter. <IMAGE>
