PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a reflection type sensor provided under a paper placing plate to properly detect the presence/absence of paper on the paper placing plate, in a paper feeder which feeds the paper placed on the paper placing plate capable of rocking in a vertical direction, to a downstream side in a carrying direction by a pick-up roller.SOLUTION: In a paper feeder, a paper placing plate 11 rockably provided in a vertical direction is moved upward from a descended position to contact paper S placed on the paper placing plate with a pick-up roller 21, and the paper is fed to a downstream side in a carrying direction by the pick-up roller. Under the paper placing plate, a reflection type sensor 16 for detecting the paper placed on the paper placing plate is provided, and detecting direction adjusting means 30 is provided, which adjusts a paper detecting direction by the reflection type sensor when the paper placing plate is rocked in the vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
