A patch for repairing the sidewall of a pneumatic tyre comprises a panel of reinforced rubber with a convex rib of trapezoidal form, in both plan and cross-section, to be located in a recess or opening of corresponding shape cut or ground in the tyre wall to eliminate damaged reinforcing cords from within the zone requiring repair. The panel pref. comprises two or more layers bonded to a strip which incorporate reinforcing cords in the portion of the rib to be aligned with the original carcass reinforcement plies. The crest of the rib is moulded in a curved cavity to match the profile of the tyre cross-section. |
