摘要 The release characteristics of standard rakes are detected, and the actual positions where their release takes place are determined. These points are correlated with the brake length, distance between outermost axles, truck type, number of axles, etc. and used as release point factors (LFB). The sum- and residual-sum-frequencies (SH,RH) for the factors of the individual classes are calculated. From them maximum and minimum values are derived giving the earliest and latest release points to be expected for 95% of all the types of rake. When determining the speed at which rakes are pushed over the hump, the weight concentrated at the rear end of the leading rake and that at the forward end of the trailing one are taken into account. USE/ADVANTAGE - High output rate even where the positions of the centres of gravity of the individual rakes are unknown before shunting starts.
