Transformer coil body for switched mode power supplies - has inbuilt-in stray-flux barriers forming end-walls

The transformer coil body has three separable units (10,18,20). The base unit (10) has connection pins and built-in stray-flux barriers (14,16). The other two skeleton type units (18,20) have also built-in stray-flux barriers (22,24). These units are inserted into one another and fixed with built-in clips (34,36). The end of the winding conductors is attached to the connectors (30) at the side of the units. USE/ADVANTAGE - Switched mode power supply transformer. The barriers can be moulded integrally, making them easier to handle and position. The barriers are also used to stop the windings, so effective use of the width of winding is increased. This results in smaller stray-flux.
