The present invention relates to a parking assistance apparatus and a method thereof, wherein the parking assistance apparatus recommends a parking space in which a vehicle can be parked with a parking mode that is the same as a parking mode of a surrounding vehicle based on pre-stored parking space information in accordance with selection of a driver. According to the present invention, the parking assistance apparatus comprises: a search unit searching a parking space by using detected distance information, and storing parking space information corresponding to the searched parking space; and a control unit displaying a space in which a vehicle can be parked on the basis of the stored parking space information. |
