PURPOSE: To provide an optical scanning head having the scanning focus of an optimum shape and optimum luminance. CONSTITUTION: This plane optical scanning head is provided with a detection diffraction grating 15 for scanning the recording surface 2 of an optical recording carrier 1. A radiation source 5 supplies a beam 6 and the beam 6 is connected to a waveguide 9 by an input diffraction grating 7 and turned to a converged scanning beam 11 by an output diffraction grating 10. By arranging the special detection diffraction grating 15 for deflecting the beam in the direction of a detector 17 in the passage of the beam reflected by the recording carrier, the scanning focus 13 of the optimum shape and the high luminance is obtained. |
