PURPOSE:To prevent the propagation of general bacteria and fungi by providing cotton bodies impregnated and fixed with a bactericide by a binder at ends of a shaft part. CONSTITUTION:The bactericide is kneaded into the shaft part 2 or the surface thereof is coated with a coating film contg. the bactericide at the time of molding the shaft part by extruding a plastic material, such as polyethylene. The cotton bodies 3 fixed with a cationic surfacte and the bactericide, for example, benzalconium chloride, by the binder are provided at both ends of the shaft part 2. Namely, the shaft part 2 is extrusion molded while the bactericide of an arom. base, etc., having heat resistance is kneaded into the plastics under heating and melting thereof in an extruder. Both ends of the shaft part 2 are then pressed by tooth-shaped dies from above and below by an end treating device 6, by which rugged surfaces are formed on the top and the bottom. While such shaft part 2 is kept rotated, the cotton in a half molten state is supplied from a cotton supplying device 7 and is fused. A bactericide soln. is supplied from a binder soln. supplying device 9 in a cotton body forming device 8 and is impregnated in the cotton bodies. |
