<p>PURPOSE: To facilitate scanning line conversion and to prevent deterioration in image quality by allowing a scanning line conversion section to convert the number of scanning lines of a digital MUSE signal from a de-emphasis section into the number of scanning lines for a 1st image mode or a 2nd image mode under the control of a control signal generating section. CONSTITUTION: A de-emphasis section 20 attenuates a high frequency component emphasized in a digital MUSE signal from an A/D converter 10 and gives the result to a scanning line conversion section 30, which converts the number of scanning lines of the digital MUSE signal into the number of scanning lines in the 1st image mode or in the 2nd image mode under the control of a control signal generating section 70. Then an output of the conversion section 30 is fed to a frequency conversion section 40, which obtains a luminance signal and (R-Y), (B-Y) signals of the NTSC from a signal received from multipliers 140, 141, 142 in the 1st image mode, and also obtains similar signals of the NTSC in the 2nd image mode. An output of the control section 40 is fed to a D/A converter 50 and a matrix section 60, from which a luminance signal and R, G, B signals are obtained.</p> |
