<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a digital video tape recorder by which a satisfactory repro ducing image whose contents can be sufficiently recognized is obtained even at the time of high speed reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A conversion coefficient quantized by a quantizing circuit 6 is coded by a variable length encoding circuit 9 and a regular regenerative signal S1 is obtained. Also, a low frequency conversion coefficient in which the important component of video data is included is coded by a high speed regenerative signal encoding circuit 10 and a high speed regenerative signal S2 is obtained. Both regenerative signals are recorded separately onto a recording format. At the time of regular regeneration, the regular regenerative signal S1 is regenerated and at the time of high speed regeneration, the high speed regenerative signal S2 is regenerated.</p> |
