PURPOSE:To electronically read out the contents of a book body by detecting the absolute position by a position detecting means and page detecting means, comparing the absolute position with the contents of a ROM in which information is previously memorized, processing the position information in accordance, and outputting an image or sound. CONSTITUTION:A book body 3 is placed at a certain position 2 in reading device body 1, and the coordinates are detected by a position detector 4, and sent as a position signal 5 into an absolute position detecting circuit 6. Further, the page on the book body is detected by a page detecting means 7, and a page signal 8 is sent into the absolute position detecting circuit 6. Since, in a ROM 12, each information is allotted and memorized for each coordinate of each page on the book body 3, the contents corresponding to the coordinate of the absolute position signal 9 is called, and an image signal 15 and a sound signal 16 are outputted through an image circuit 13 and a sound circuit 13. Accordingly, an arbitrary page and a designated position on the book body 3 can be read out without using a special paint, etc.
