PURPOSE:To inhibit clogging and to considerably prolong service life by using a hollow fiber having internal structure in which the nearly circular pares of a specified minor axis size connect with each other at smaller intervals than the average pore diameter of the pores. CONSTITUTION:A spinning soln. prepd. by adding polyethylene glycol having 200,000-500,000 mol.wt. to a soln. of polysulfone in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and a core liq. are extruded from a double nozzle into the air and immersed in a solidifying liq. to obtain a porous hollow polysulfone fiber having highly fibrillated external structure and internal structure in which nearly circular pores of 0.1-10mum, preferably 0.5-5mum minor axis size connect with each other at smaller intervals than the average pore diameter of the pores. The nearly circular pores are pores having about <=2 ratio of major axis size to minor axis size. The inside of the fiber has an increase degree of network, the rate of opening is increased and clogging is hardly caused.
