PURPOSE:To generate various gradation patterns with simple construction by changing at least either of the direction or cycle of the pattern in adding it on the original picture of the gradation pattern. CONSTITUTION:This copying device with decorative function is provided with a reading means reading the original picture, a pattern generation means generating pattern information whose gradation changes periodically and an image formation means forming the image by adding the pattern information to be generated by the pattern generation means for the original picture to be read by the reading means. It is also provided with a control means changing the tone change state of the pattern information to be generated from the pattern generation means. In this case, the control means changes either of the cycle of gradation of the tone change of the pattern information or the tone change direction. For example, the cycle of the gradation pattern can be changed by changing the count value of ring counters 319 and 320 and the direction of the gradation of the gradation pattern is changed by changing the count direction. |
