PURPOSE:To provide a light emitting diode which has wide light distribution characteristics and seems to emit lights from the whole light emitting plane and has an excellent visibility. CONSTITUTION:A concave reflective plane 22 is formed into a rotary parabolloidal shape and a light emitting device 12 is placed at its focus position. A light emitting plane 24 is formed behind the light emitting device 12. The light emitting plane 24 is composed of a large number of minute concave spherical planes 26. Light emitted by the light emitting device 12 is reflected by the concave reflective plane 22 and applied to the light emitting plane 24 as parallel beams of light. The parallel beams are refracted by the respective spherical planes 26 so as to be spread forward and the beams emitted from the respective concave spherical planes 26 are effectively superposed on each other. |
