TREATMENT OF ORGANIC SEWAGE AND EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To diminish clogging of a fixed bed and to decrease the frequency of backwash and to purify organic sewage at high degree by high load treatment by rationally combining a fluidized bed and a solid bed for aerobically and biologically treating organic sewage and saving the amount of gas supplied into the fluidized bed. CONSTITUTION:Oxygen-containing gas is blown from a diffuser 7 of the lower part of a packed layer 5 so that the medium of the part upper than the intermediate part of the packed layer 5 of the granular medium forms a fluidized bed 51 by blowing oxygen-containing gas from a diffuser 6 and the medium in the lower part thereof is held in a fixed bed 52. Organic sewage to be treated is successively passed and treated through these fluidized bed 51 and solid bed 52 in the downward flow.
