<p>PURPOSE: To perform recording, reproduction and a high data transmission speed by the low rotation of a rotary drum and to simultaneously stabilize and miniaturize a device by vertically or horizontally deflecting an objective lens focus by an ultrasonic wave light deflector and performing the recording and the reproduction. CONSTITUTION: The rotary drum 20 is rotated, a magneto-optical tape T is supplied from a supply reel 21 through a slot 20a to the outer peripheral surface of the drum 20 and a light source 11 emits light simultaneously. Then, the light is converged through a convex lens 17 to the ultrasonic wave light deflector 15, turned to parallel light in a cylindrical lens 18, passed through a beam splitter 13 and converged to the tape T by an objective lens 12. At the time, the deflector 15 is operated by an ultrasonic wave generator 16, the converged light by the lens 17 is deflected in a vertical or horizontal direction within a prescribed track width and information is recorded and reproduced on the tape T. Thus, high-speed recording and reproduction are performed by the low rotation of the drum 20. Reflected light from the tape T is scanned by a photodetecting element 14 in the splitter 13 and tracking and focus errors or the like are detected.</p> |
