PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of securely aligning sheets on a loading tray by a movable regulation plate of the sheet feeder, and preventing sheet feeding failure.SOLUTION: A sheet feeder comprises a movable regulation mechanism 49 for pressing and regulating one end part in a width direction of sheets on a loading tray 32. After the loading tray 32 is elevated to move the uppermost surface of the sheets to a feed-out position where the sheets are fed out by a feed-out roller 40, the feed-out roller 40 is moved from a contact position where it contacts the uppermost surface of the sheets to a retreat position where it is away from the uppermost surface. Accordingly, the sheets on the loading tray 32 can be aligned and sheet feeding failure can be prevented.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
