<p>PURPOSE:To provide a controller for continuous mill with which tension fluctuation due to change in deformation resistance corresponding to temp. fluctuation of a material to be rolled can be compensated without using the rolling load and the temp. of the material to be rolled. CONSTITUTION:Each rolling torque of a rolling mill 1 on the upstream side and rolling mill 2 on the downstream side is detected with torque detectors 7, 8. The tension between stands is calculated with a computing element 10 for tension based on the difference between the ratio of both rolling torques that are detected with these torque detectors and the ratio of both torques that is preliminarily measured and stored. The speed of at least one rolling mill, for example, the rolling mill 1 on the upstream side is corrected through speed correcting means 5, 3 so that the tension that is calculated with this computing element for tension becomes a prescribed target tension.</p> |
