PURPOSE:To permit a voltage type self-exciting conversion system to support the improvement of the power factor, reduction of the higher harmonic and prevention of the failure of commutation due to system abnormality of a separately-excited conversion system normally and to permit the separately-excited conversion system to support the protection of the voltage type self-exciting conversion system in the event of the failure of the voltage type self-exciting conversion system by combining the separately-excited conversion system with the voltage type self-exciting conversion system. CONSTITUTION:The power conversion system consists of a separately-excited conversion system 100 and a voltage type self-exciting conversion system 200, and makes effective use of the respective advantages of these system and compensates the respective weak points of these systems. The separately-excited conversion system 100 controls D/A and A/D power conversion, the voltage type self-exciting conversion system 200 reduces the ineffective power or ineffective power and higher harmonic to be generated by the system 100, and these systems operated almost independent from each other. When the direct current of the system 200 is shortcircuited, the continuity of a combining diode 107 is bindered, the system 100 and the system 200 operate in series and the overcurrent of the system 200 is suppressed. |
