<p>PURPOSE:To provide a device and a method for machining an embedded plug for a truck rail in a direct acting rolling guide unit to cut the part of the embedded plug protruding from the upper face of the truck rail. CONSTITUTION:Since a cutter 25 is removably fixed to a slider 1 so as to take its position on the side of the front end of the slider 1, the cutter 25 can cut and remove the upper part of an embedded plug 14 protruding from the upper face 19 of a rail 2 only by slidingly moving the slider 1 on the rail 2. Thus, since a direct acting rolling guide unit itself is very high in travelling accuracy, if the cutter 25 itself is selected to be the best suited to the material of the embedded plug 14, the upper part of the embedded plug 14 can be finely cut, and the upper face 19 of the rail 2 and the upper face of the embedded plug 14 can be precisely machined to have the same level.</p> |
