The invention relates to the process for obtaining the sequence of the unique short Us region of the Marek's disease virus which codes for the protein kinase. It also relates to the recombinant herpes viruses, in which a heterologous gene was inserted in the homologous region of the gene which codes for the protein kinase, and especially the recombinant Marek viruses which express a gene of a poultry pathogenic agent, which may possibly be a gene of another serotype of the Marek viruses. The invention also relates to a process for preparation of vaccines based on said recombinants.
