PURPOSE:To eliminate the applying work of release agent and manufacture a high quality lens by a method wherein the applications of hard coating liquid mixed with release agent for forming antireflection film and of scratch-resisting hard coating liquid are done on the working surface of each molding die in the order named and, after the liquids are hardened, monomer liquid is poured in the molding dies for polymerizing. CONSTITUTION:Hard coating films 3 are provided by applying scratch-resisting hard coating liquid onto release agent-containing antireflection films 2, which are respectively formed on the working surfaces of two molding dies 1, and, after that, hardening the liquids, plastic lens 5 is cast in a space, which is formed by the molding dies 1 having the above-mentioned films and a gasket 4. The plastic lens 5, which is taken out of the molding dies after the polymerization and hardening of monomer, is a product lens having hard coating films 3 and antireflection films 2. Since the antireflection film 2 and the hard coating film 3 are adherently formed to the molding die, the heat-treating conditions of these film at their formation have no limitation and neither deformation nor yellowing develops even during high temperature heat treatment and, in addition, the heat-treating time can be shortened. |
