The energy generation system, floating on the water surface, comprises a number of catamaran punts (1, 1') spaced apart in the longitudinal direction, which can move vertically up and down fixed guides (3, 3'), preventing their sidewards movement. Deflection rollers (5, 5') for an endless transmission chain (6) are mounted on the punts (1, 1') with containers (7) attached to the chain (6) held in a horizontal position by the flow force of the water, the rotation of the rollers (5, 5') driving a generator. The containers (7) may have hollow spaces filled with air or gas, e.g. helium. USE - For efficient conversion of water flow energy into electricity.
