The four-stroke i.c. engine has an outer cover (1) and a working unit, consisting of a drum with an outer bearing plate (13). Pistons (39) with curved guide arms (22) are enclosed between an inner bearing body (15) and the outer bearing plate. A drive unit has a housing cover (16) fixed to the inner bearing unit and an outer bearing plate (17) supporting a drive shaft stub (18). A drive gear (31) and two intermediate gears (32) engage with an internal crown gear (33). USE/ADVANTAGE - For both car and stationary engines, with simple mfr. and assembly favourable mass-performance ratio, and no need for valve control.
