A melt filter for the cleansing of plastic melts includes a sieve plate located between two plate members, with cut-outs along its side, which can accomodate filters in the form of ring members, a drive mechanism and a melt channel. The melt channel has a circular inlet opening and directs towards the sieve surfaces on reaching the plate members. Two melt channels ections are located behind the ring hole plates.
