The temperature switch has a holder (30) which grips esp. at an outer circumference of the thermometer probe (3) centring it, and/or forms a radial clamp (32). The holder is secured only at a radial distance from the probe (3) compared to the base and has at least one holding arm (39). The holder (30) has prismatic holding surface lying tangentially to the thermometer probe, which pref. grips the latter with radial spring loading at the probe (3) and/or at a distance from the base side end of the outer circumference of the probe. USE/ADVANTAGE - For temp. limiting or overheating protection in hooking hob etc. Simple construction allowing easier operation and preventing deflection of probe, to ensure reliable and precise probe position.
