A compsn. for causing hair growth contains garlic, celery and vegetable oil as main components. Garlic, celery and vegetable oil are in a ratio of 6:2:1. The oil is olive oil, and the compsn. may contain root of stinging nettle and/or leaves of green ivy, in ratio of nettle root:celery or ivy leaf:celery of not above 1:1. Aromas may be included, to improve the smell. The compsn. may be an aq., alcoholic or oily extract of garlic and celery, and opt. nettle root and/or green ivy leaves. The solid components are ground and mixed with vegetable oil to a spreadable paste. USE/ADVANTAGE - Hair root activity is reactivated by daily application of the paste or the extract contg. garlic, celery and oil for 1-3 (2) weeks, followed by daily application of the compsn. contg. nettle root and/or ivy leaves, to the scalp for 2-6 (3) weeks. The compsn. is left on the scalp for 30-120 (60) mins. The paste is washed off with a weakly acid or weakly alkaline body cleanser or with shaving foam. The hair roots are reactivated preventing hair loss due to ageing or illness.
