Transparent, thermoplastic polymer alloys consists of an aromatic polycarbonate (I) and a methacrylate copolymer (II). The novelty is that (II) is a copolymer of 40-95 (wt.)% methyl methacrylate (MMA) units, 0-40% other alpha,beta-unsatd. monomer units and 5-40% maleimide units derived from an opt. substd. N-cyclohexylmaleimide cpd. of formula (I): X = cyclohxyl, opt. with one or more 1-6C alkyl or phenyl substits.; and has a mol. wt. of over 30000.
