The armchair having support members respectively for a seat portion, a backrest portion, armrest portions and a headrest portion, is provided with auxiliary cushion members foldably joined with one another to support the backrest cushion and the headrest cushion. The auxiliary members are spread open for the high raised back and head position or folded for the lowered back and head position for ease. The seat support member is arranged to slide back and forth with a string tied to limit the slide movement. The backrest cushion and the headrest cushion are joined with each other by means of a cushion cover.
