摘要

A new strain of Candida tropicallis, with the designation DSM 4131, and its mutants and variants, with the capacity of converting methyl myristate into tetradecane di-acid, at a yield of more than 30 g/l/6 days, are claimed. Fermentative conversion of fatty acid esters, fatty acids, alkenes, alkenols, alkanes and/or alkanols with 8-24C (in the acid component only in esters) is pref. effected in presence of nutrients and opt. of co-substrates into alpha,omega-dicarboxylic acids with the same number of C and of C=C bonds (in the acid component only in esters), by use of C tropicallis DSM 4131 is claimed.
