Perfluoro-oxaziridines contg. an amine gp. in position 3 and are of formula (I) are new where R =F (pref) or 1-10C perfluoroalkyl. Prepn of cpds. of formula (II) where R is as above and Rn = 1-10C perfluoroalkyl or an amine gp of formula (III) (which. include cpds. (I)) is effected by reaction of a perfluoroimine of formula (III) with H2O2 in the presence of a base (pref. the CO32- or HCO3- of an alkali or alkaline earth metal) in a dipolar aprotic solvent (pref. diglyme or acetonitrile) at -50-+50 deg.C.
