Electric vacuum cleaner attachment for dry disinfecting - uses battery of UV light sources fitted to suction hose above vacuum cleaner suction head and coupled to optical fibres

The vacuum cleaner attachment allows dry disinfection of floor coverings, e.g. for controlling house dust mite, using a UV light source provided as a battery of UV lamps lying outside the vacuum cleaner suction head (1), so that the size of the latter is not increased. The UV light is supplied to the suction head for treating the carpet via glass and/or plastics optical fibres. Pref. the UV light sources are supported in lamp battery housings (3) fitted to the suction hose (2) above the suction head. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple fitting to existing vacuum cleaner to provide effective dry disinfecting treatment for house dust mite.
