The present invention relates to a redox flow battery composed of: a positive electrode cell including a positive electrode and a positive electrode electrolyte; a negative electrode cell including a negative electrode and a negative electrode electrolyte; and a sulfonation-modified polyetheretherketone ion-exchange membrane positioned between the positive electrode cell and the negative electrode cell. According to the present invention, the redox flow battery enables the use of the thin ion-exchange membranes and exhibits excellent effects such as unit cell performance, lifespan, and stability by minimizing a crossover phenomenon.
