PURPOSE:To improve exhaust gas cleanliness and fuel consumption by prohibiting an automatic transmission equipped with an over-drive unit from connecting a speed change gear to a over-drive condition if a fuel increase control is effected for a period of time exceeding the stated time when the car altitude is found to exceed the stated one. CONSTITUTION:A car altitude detecting means M6 is arranged to detect altitude of vehicles equipped with an electronic fuel injection controller M4. The fuel injection controller M4 controls a fuel injection means M3 so that an air-fuel ratio is always smaller than a theoretical one so as to effect a fuel increase control for the quantity supplied to an internal combustion engine M2 when a throttle opening detected by a throttle opening detecting means M1 exceeds the stated one. And also an over-drive prohibition means M7 is arranged not to allow an automatic transmission equipped with an over-drive unit M5 to convert a speed change gear to a over drive if a fuel increase control is effected for a period of time exceeding the specified time when M6 detects the car is found to be in excess of the specified altitude. This configuration enables an over-drive operation to be adequately controlled. |
