The invention relates to a front jaw having a release spring through which a tension rod passes, which release spring acts via a slide on the shorter lever arms of two angle levers which are pivotable about horizontal axes on a bearing part and whose longer lever arms rest on the front end of the sole of a ski boot. In order to improve the release operation with such a front jaw, the invention proposes that a housing 2 fixed to the ski 3 and accommodating the release spring 4 has two bearing surfaces 2b1, 2b2 for the bearing part 11 at its rear end which are located at vertical distances away from the tension rod 8, and that the bearing part 11 bears, by means of its counter-surfaces 11a1, 11a2 in the position of travel of the front jaw 1, under the influence of the release spring 4, on the two bearing surfaces 2b1, 2b2 and is secured in this position against twisting about a theoretical axis extending parallel to the tension rod 8. <IMAGE> |
