PURPOSE:To equalize both levels of input light and output light in an optical selector which selects one out of a plurality of input lights and outputs it. CONSTITUTION:Input section beam splitters 1 are provided with an input section detector 3 that receives individually branched outputs from the respective splitters 1 and converts them into electric signals to output. A multi-input 1 output optical switch 2 selects one out of the input lights and adds it to an erbium doped fiber 6. A multi-input 1 output electric switch 4 selects the output from the detector 3 that is connected with the branched output of the same input light selected by the switch 2, and then outputs it. The output from the fiber 6 is branched in an output section beam splitter 8, converted into electric signal in an output section detector 9, and added to a control section 10 together with the output from the switch 4. The output level of excitation light generating in a light source 5 is varied in order to reduce the level difference of signals inputted from the section 10, so that the level of input light and output light may be kept equal. |
