PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording apparatus in a simple structure which can form mark sets of uniform size. CONSTITUTION:A laser light for write purpose generated from a semiconductor laser 12 is turned to parallel beams by a collimator lens 14, and enters a condenser lens 16 to be convergent beams. The convergent beams are separated to two light beams when entering a splitting optical element 18. The splitting optical element 18 has two prisms, the thickness of which can be continuously changed by moving the prisms while keeping the prisms in touch with each other. Accordingly, the distance between the two beams is continuously changed. After these two beams are converged to two different points on a focal surface 20 of the condenser lens 16, the beams are converged to different points of a recording medium 24 by an objective lens 22. As a result of this, a pit set consisting of two pits is formed in the recording medium 24. |
