Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) load break switch comprising, for each pole, an SF6-filled sealed casing containing fixed contacts and arc contacts, the poles being fixed to a common earthed metal section (4) pivoting between two opposite faces of a drawer (45) capable of containing the poles, the said section (4) shrouding a shaft (5) for controlling the poles which is connected to a control box integral with the said section (4), the rotation of the latter affording the break operation, the rotation of the said shaft (5) affording the switch function.
